Daryl Larson, third-generation owner of Ephraim Village Cottages, passed on January 5, 2026. He passed peacefully in his sleep at home in Ephraim. I had the honor of being by his side all the way until the end. He was not in pain and praise God he will no longer living with sickness and disease. He is in his Heavenly home with his Lord walking without a walker, talking and telling jokes without speech struggles, playing piano and trombone like he used to, and visiting with those who have gone before him.
Prior to the end of his life, we talked at length about what happens to the Ephraim Village Cottages property after he passes. I will open as planned on May 15, 2026, and will have a fantastic season with all of you staying with us. He asked me to get out an enjoy nights at the firepit, walk around the property, and have conversations with our wonderful guests. Now that I am no longer caring for Daryl 24/7, I will have time and energy to take on the role that Daryl can no longer fill and that is to be an amazing host to each and every one of you.
Daryl loved this property and he loved people. He loved the stories, the memories, and the conversations he had. I hope to make him proud and continue the Larson legacy here in Ephraim by doing the same.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Daryl (Ruann) Larson, Your Host
